Parenting is a time of learning and adapting to new experiences and stages. The plan is we parent organically in a way that we feel is best for our family and each indiviual child, however, when parenting doesn't come naturally to you, or you enter a stage or circumstance that you need help navigating, you may feel a bit lost. I want to help. No one expects you to know all things about raising a child. I certainly don't know everything either, but I do have a fair amount of education, a wide range of experiences and many years parenting so hopefully I can help you gain some insight or direction with some of your uncertainties. As I add various courses, I truly hope they can help caregivers navigate this often overwhelming experience we call parenting.
Hi, I’m Charlotte Prinkki
I love learning and teaching. My passion in life is helping others and sharing knowledge I value. In particular, I love teaching parents new skills to make parenting easier, and educate them so they can be better equipped for the various stages of parenting, starting with pregnancy or newborns! The feeling of changing someone's life for the better, even in tiny ways, makes me one happy women! Covid basically killed my successful birth business and in combination with a cross country move, I have shifted focus to online courses for now.
The first topics I'm tackling through this venue are puberty and sex ed which are often looked upon as embarrassing and shameful. Past generations rarely talked about puberty and sex and as a result, we still have generations of adults raising children who feel uncomfortable with these topics and often don't have accurate information. We cannot rely on schools to educate our kids on these sensitive topics because they don't explain some very important information, not to mention, the kids are embarrassed so they may not be listening or willing to ask questions, and you do not want your child using the internet or "learning" from their misguided peers!
As a birthworker and mom of young adult sons and preteen girls I have been shocked hearing some stories and learning the reality that still today, young adults were never taught some basic anatomy and we especially lack knowledge about the opposite sex! We need to educate our children so they can feel confident about growing up, their changing bodies and fully understand how our bodies work in order to advocate for having a healthy body and making responsible choices. I want to take the fear out of puberty!
My future courses will include sex ed for neurodivergent kids and a complete holistic health ed curriculum. I'm very confident that most adults will also learn things they didn't know. I have personally enjoyed learning some new things on these topics as well.
